Katie’s Kelly
Fox Red Yellow Labrador Retriever, born February 28, 1982. Kelly, affectionately known as Kelly Bear, loved playing fetch with tennis balls until Granny Lyn’s arm felt like it was going to drop off, loved going to the cottage and running in the woods. He watched a skunk sniff some flowers at the front of the house and thankfully never once barked to scare it away.
AmberLyn
Yellow Labrador Retriever, born September 1996. Amber loved eating bread dough, pumpkin pies, Chinese food and carrots. She loved running down the dock, and launching herself off the end to retrieve the outlander, and would stay in the lake only until it was dinner time. And did I mention Tim Bits? She would rock the car with her tail wagging so hard when she saw Granny Lyn’s husband coming with a box of Tim Bits.
Riley
Yellow Labrador Retriever, born July 2, 1999. Born with severe arthritis in his hocks, Riley loved swimming in the lake nonstop. His best friend was AmberLyn, who was his half sister. He was laid back in nature, and would fall asleep during baths and visits to the vets. He was a constant companion to Granny Lyn both at her desk and in the kitchen.
Buster
Chocolate Labrador Retriever, not sure when he was born. Was rescued when he was 10 years old, and adopted from the Labrador Rescue of Oakville Ontario. Buster learned how to swim, jump off the dock, and enjoy life once again. In the morning he would do a happy dance down the stairs knowing breakfast would be waiting for him. He also learned to love that box of Tim Bits, and Granny Lyn’s baking.
Quincy
Fox Red Yellow Labrador Retriever, February 16, 2014. One of the smartest Labradors that Granny Lyn has owned, as he figured to not only lock her out of the house on several occasions, but also opens exterior and screen doors.
Bower
Fox Red Yellow Labrador Retriever, born February 16, 2015. (Full brother to Quincy.) Bower's ability to track exactly where Quincy has visited in the woods is remarkable. Greatest love is belly rubs - don't stop.
Duke
Brindle Boxer, born 1958. Duke was very protective of Granny Lyn as they grew up together, and would love clamping his powerful jaws on an old shoe and then have Granny Lyn’s Dad spin him around and around off the ground. Owned by Granny Lyn’s parents.
Casey
Part Sheppard and part Whippet (we think), Granny Lyn found her, after being dumped from a car to fend for herself, roaming the woods in Muskoka. She was one of the fastest dogs, and loved running and catching squirrels, ………yes she was that fast. Adopted by Granny Lyn and her parents.
Murphy
Yellow Labrador Retriever, born . Often referred to as the biggest registered Yellow Labrador Retriever ever to grace the planet, Murphy could stand up on his hind legs and look at you straight in the eyes, even if you were over 6’ high. Owned by Granny Lyn’s parents.
Abby
Chocolate Labrador Retriever. One of the most gentle and loving Labradors that Granny Lyn has ever known. Abby loves to tease Quincy and Bower while walking in the woods at the cottage and eventually gets them both to chase her. Loves to eat apples, and chase squirrels. Owned by Granny Lyn’s parents.
Mandy
Liver & White English Springer Spaniel. Mandy although a water dog by profession would not swim in the lake but would instead sniff around at the shoreline. Owned by Granny Lyn’s husband Murray.
Jessie
Golden Retriever. Loves to swim in the lake and play tug with Quincy and Bower. Also able to hide two tennis balls in her mouth. Owned by Granny Lyn’s childhood friend Janine
